Jordi Gomez is only named on the Wigan bench for their meeting with an unchanged Everton at the DW Stadium, despite the FA rescinding his sending-off against Sunderland.

Jordi Gomez has been dropped to the Wigan Athletic bench for the visit of Everton this afternoon despite the FA rescinding the red card he received against Sunderland last weekend.

The Spanish midfielder was dismissed for a challenge on Black Cats midfielder Danny Rose, but his three-match ban was overturned after a successful appeal.

However, his place in the Wigan starting XI has gone to Franco Di Santo, in the only change made by Roberto Martinez from their Stadium of Light defeat.

Toffees manager David Moyes has stuck with the lineup that earned Everton a come-from-behind victory over Southampton last Saturday.

Nikica Jelavic is preferred up front to the in-form Victor Anichebe, while England full-back Leighton Baines faces his former club.

Wigan: Al Habsi; Boyce, Ramis, Caldwell, Figueroa, Beausejour; Maloney, McCarthy, McArthur; Di Santo, Kone

Everton: Howard; Coleman, Jagielka, Heitinga, Baines; Mirallas, Neville, Osman, Pienaar, Fellaini; Jelavic
