Everton boss Sam Allardyce reportedly decides to keep both James McCarthy and Sandro Ramirez at Goodison Park for the rest of the season.

Everton manager Sam Allardyce has reportedly decided to keep both James McCarthy and Sandro Ramirez at Goodison Park.

Neither player has made an impact at the Toffees this season, with McCarthy spending much of the campaign on the sidelines and Ramirez struggling to settle after a summer move from Malaga.

With Allardyce expected to tinker with his squad in January, the pair had been candidates to leave in the transfer window but according to the Daily Mail, the club's new boss wants to keep the duo on Merseyside.

McCarthy's only appearance this season has come in the EFL Cup, while Ramirez has failed to score in three starts and four substitute outings in the top flight.

Ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Chelsea, Allardyce has guided Everton to four wins and one draw from five games in all competitions.
