Clint Dempsey reportedly stays behind from Fulham's trip to Switzerland in order to force through a move to Liverpool.

Clint Dempsey has reportedly withdrawn from Fulham's pre-season trip to Switzerland in order to force through a transfer to Liverpool.

Speculation has claimed that the American international informed Fulham manager Martin Jol of his decision during a training session on Friday morning.

Following discussions, Jol reluctantly accepted Dempsey's wish and told the attacking midfielder to train with the club's youth team in the meantime, according to Goal.com.

Liverpool are said to be extremely keen to sign the 29-year-old, who joined the Whites in 2007.
