Genoa manager Gian Piero Gasperini is disappointed that his team were unable to come away with a point from their Serie A match against Roma this afternoon.
The Giallorossi ran out 2-0 winners at the Stadio Olimpico thanks to goals from Seydou Doumbia and Alessandro Florenzi, but Gasperini thought that his side could have put in a better defensive performance.
"I believed we could at least get a draw here and it's just a shame we gave away the first goal," he told Sky Sport Italia.
"It was our third game in a few days and it wasn't easy, but we went close to an equaliser. I wanted us to use our energy in a more efficient way, but we made two huge mistakes on the goals.
"We have two games on home turf and if we win both of those then we've got a better chance of qualifying for Europe."
Genoa are currently seventh in the Serie A table.
