Germany international defender Philipp Lahm has insisted that he and his teammates are hungry for success.
The European giants will begin their 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign against the Faroe Islands on Friday, aiming to put the memory of their Euro 2012 semi-final defeat to Italy behind them.
"Of course, we are hungry," said Lahm at a press conference. "The exit at the European Championship was bitter, but waiting for us is a World Cup.
"We made mistakes against Italy. Now we have two years in which to remedy them. We want to take the next step and it is important to develop.
"We have to be organised, only then can we attack. We have practised, but whether it works out 100% tomorrow (Friday) is another matter."
Germany will take on Austria next Tuesday in their second World Cup qualifier.
