Inter Milan are ready to move for Ruud van Nistelrooy as they seek a short-term replacement for Diego Milito, according to reports.

Inter Milan have been linked with a move for Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy.

The 36-year-old would be a short-term replacement for the injured Diego Milito, who will miss the rest of the season with a knee problem.

The Nerazzurri were believed to be closing in on former Aston Villa striker John Carew, but that deal collapsed after he failed a medical.

According to Football Italia, Van Nistelrooy, who is without a club having left Malaga at the end of last season, is next on their hit list.
