Ipswich Town striker Michael Chopra reveals that he wants to see Alan Shearer replace recently-departed manager Paul Jewell at Portman Road.

Ipswich Town striker Michael Chopra has called for the club to appoint former England frontman Alan Shearer as the Championship outfit's new manager.

The Tractor Boys are searching for a new coach after parting company with Paul Jewell yesterday following a difficult start to the season, which has placed the side at the bottom of the league table.

Chopra tweeted: "Who do the fans want as manager? i would love to see alan shearer as manager such a good person and worked, played under some great managers including sir bobby robson."

Following the departure of Jewell, Sports Mole compiled a list of the potential contenders for the role.
