Former Leeds United captain Lucas Radebe is reportedly heading up a consortium interested in buying the Championship club.
Current owners GFH Capital only bought the club in December 2012 but they are believed to want to sell it on.
According to BBC Look North, former Hull City chairman and current Hull FC owner Adam Pearson is also part of the group interested in buying Leeds.
However, GFH Capital have been quoted as denying any kind of interest from a consortium involving South African Radebe.
"We're watching with a mixture of bemusement and interest the reports involving ex-captain Lucas Radebe. No formal approach to us as majority owners of [Leeds] has been made by any members reportedly concerned with this consortium," a spokesman for GFH capital has been quoted as saying by BBC journalist Adam Pope on Twitter.
The consortium's aim is believed to be getting the Whites back into Europe. They are currently eighth in the Championship, one point off the playoffs.
