Massimo Cellino 'will not sack Steve Evans'

Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino reportedly confirms that he will not sack manager Steve Evans in the wake of the club's 4-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino has reportedly confirmed that he will not sack manager Steve Evans in the wake of his side's 4-0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday night.

Leeds found themselves four goals down by half time at the AMEX Stadium, at which point Cellino left the ground having seemingly seen enough.

A subsequent media blackout raised widespread reports that Evans could be on the verge of becoming the seventh manager sacked by Cellino during his two-year stint in charge of the club.

However, Sky Sports News is reporting that Cellino has given Evans reassurances over his future and will not sack the former Rotherham United boss, although there has been no official comment from the club.

Leeds, who have won just eight of their 33 league matches this season, currently sit 17th in the Championship, nine points clear of the relegation zone ahead of Saturday's match with struggling Bolton Wanderers.
