Riyad Mahrez earns point for 10-man Leicester City

Riyad Mahrez comes off the bench to earn Leicester City a 2-2 draw in a dramatic Championship clash with Nottingham Forest.

Riyad Mahrez scored a late equaliser to secure a 2-2 draw for Leicester City in a dramatic clash with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground this evening.

Forest created the better of the early chances as Jamie Paterson tested Kasper Schmeichel with a curled effort before the Dane was forced to tip a Danny Collins header over the crossbar.

It was Leicester who broke the deadlock in the 30th minute when Jamie Vardy took full advantage of a defensive error from Jamaal Lascelles to slot in the opening goal.

Leicester were then punished for their own defensive mistake as Paterson headed an equaliser past Schmeichel after the visitors had failed to clear a corner at the first attempt.

Wes Morgan gifted Forest the chance to take the lead before the break when he fouled Jamie Mackie inside the box and Reid accepted the invitation to score his side's second from the penalty spot.

Leicester were dealt a big blow on the hour mark when Paul Konchesky was shown a red card for a late challenge on Mackie.

Forest took full control of the game after being handed the numerical advantage, but they missed an opportunity to extend their lead when Collins drilled a shot wide after collecting a loose ball.

However, it was then Leicester's turn to be handed a chance from the penalty spot in the 82nd minute when Paterson was adjudged to have fouled Danny Drinkwater in the box.

Karl Darlow looked like he may be the hero for Forest when he saved the penalty from Kevin Phillips but Matty James kept the threat alive by picking out Mahrez and the substitute tapped in from close range to secure a point for Leicester.
