Leicester City striker Andrej Kramaric has had his application for a work permit backed by the Football Association.
He has already passed a medical and agreed personal terms on a three-and-a-half-year contract ahead of what would be a record transfer for the Foxes.
The Croatian international does not meet the the criteria for an automatic permit as he has made just four appearances for his country.
However, the FA has now given its endorsement to his application, after Leicester officials made their case in front of a six-man panel.
Kramaric scored 28 goals in 31 games for Rijeka last season.
