Liverpool will be without forward Cody Gakpo for Thursday's Europa League group-stage fixture against Union SG at Anfield.
Gakpo sustained a knee injury when scoring in the Reds' controversial 2-1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League last weekend, and the Dutchman is allegedly facing several weeks on the sidelines.
Liverpool will also be without midfield duo Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic as they continue to recover from respective hip and calf problems, but Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota – who were both sent off against Spurs – are available for selection in Europe.
Jurgen Klopp is expected to rotate his side in a few positions on Thursday and could revert to a similar lineup that beat LASK Linz 3-1 in their Group E opener two weeks ago, with first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker set to be replaced by Caoimhin Kelleher.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has recovered from a hamstring problem but could be rested in midweek, while defensive quartet Joe Gomez, Ibrahima Konate, Jarell Quansah and Kostas Tsimikas will all be looking to force their way back into the first XI.
Summer signing Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo could be recalled in centre-midfield, and fellow new recruit Alexis Mac Allister is also in contention to feature in some capacity and could play against his brother Kevin, who is currently on loan at Union SG from Boca Juniors.
The absence of Gakpo is set to see Darwin Nunez handed a start up front, while Klopp will ponder whether to start star forward Mohamed Salah or rest the Egyptian, with the likes of Jota, Luis Diaz and Ben Doak also in contention to feature in attack.
Liverpool possible starting lineup: Kelleher; Gomez, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Elliott, Endo, Gravenberch; Salah, Nunez, Jota
