Mario Balotelli: "I was never happy at Liverpool"

Mario Balotelli admits that he was "never happy" at Liverpool and wants to stay at AC Milan when his loan deal expires this summer.

Mario Balotelli has admitted that he was "never happy" during his time at Liverpool.

The controversial striker signed for the Reds from AC Milan in a £16m deal in September 2014, but failed to make an impact in his first season at Anfield.

The 25-year-old rejoined Milan on a loan deal last summer, but injuries have marred his time back at San Siro.

It is unclear whether or not the Italian club will sign him permanently when the season comes to an end, but the player himself has admitted that he does not want to return to Merseyside.

"I want to stay at Milan," Balotelli told Mediaset Premium. "I do not want to return to Liverpool. I was never happy at Liverpool. Plus Milan have the money."

Balotelli, who spent three years at Manchester City, has scored just one Serie A goal since returning to Milan.
