Liverpool assistant manager Zeljko Buvac will miss the rest of the season due to personal reasons.
Buvac was initially reported to have fallen out with Jurgen Klopp and stormed out of the club as a result in the week of their Champions League semi-final second leg against Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.
However, according to the Liverpool Echo club officials have denied those reports and insisted that Klopp's long-time number two has not stepped down from his role.
Buvac - who has been described as the "brain" behind Liverpool's gegenpressing - will not be involved with the first team for the remainder of the campaign due to private matters which have not been disclosed by the club, but Liverpool have said that his employment is unaffected by his period of absence.
Klopp must now look to lead his team into the Champions League final and the top four of the Premier League without the man he has worked alongside for the past 17 years, with Liverpool going into Wednesday's second leg with a 5-2 lead over Roma before facing fifth-placed Chelsea at the weekend.
