Liverpool to return to Malaysia as part of this summer's pre-season tour

Liverpool confirm that the team will return to Malaysia as part of this summer's pre-season tour.

Liverpool have announced that the team will return to Malaysia in the summer, incorporating the trip into their 2015 pre-season tour.

The Premier League club first visited the country in 2011, and they will return to Kuala Lumpur with the first team to take part in a friendly match against a Malaysian XI on Friday, July 24 at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium.

Chief executive Ian Ayre told the club's official website: "We visited Kuala Lumpur as part of our 2011 pre-season tour and the support we received was incredible. Not only from the 80,000 fans that turned out to watch us play at Bukit Jalil, but all our fans in Malaysia throughout our visit.

"Pre-season is an important time for the team as they prepare for the upcoming season and the match against the Malaysian XI is an exciting part of that preparation.

"The tour gives our supporters a chance to see the team up close, no matter how far away from Anfield they might live."

Liverpool will also visit Australia to play pre-season friendlies against Brisbane Roar and Adelaide United.
