Harry Redknapp dares Jurgen Klopp to take Sunderland job

Harry Redknapp says that he would like to see how Jurgen Klopp would fare managing Sunderland.

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has challenged Jurgen Klopp to reject Liverpool and coach Sunderland instead.

Sharing a video of himself discussing Brendan Rodgers's Anfield exit on Twitter, Redknapp said that he would be interested to see how the German would fare at the helm of the Premier League strugglers.

"Klopp could take Liverpool to top four. But I'd like to see how good he would be at Sunderland," he said.

Redknapp also ruled himself out of the running for the Sunderland job, describing their performance during last month's 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth as an "absolute disaster".

He added: "I saw them play at Bournemouth and they were an absolute disaster. Whoever takes it has got a tough job on their hands.

"They're poor at the back and the centre halves are not good enough. They were short everywhere when I saw them, there's a lot of work to be done."

Former Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson and ex-USA coach Bob Bradley are the latest names to be linked with succeeding Dick Advocaat at Sunderland.
