Jack Robinson is delighted to have signed a new long-term deal with Liverpool.

Left-back Jack Robinson has spoken of his delight at signing a new long-term contract with Liverpool.

The 18-year-old became the club's youngest ever player when he came on as a substitute against Hull City in 2010.

Since then he has made four more appearances for the senior team and has insisted that he will not rest on his laurels despite agreeing a fresh deal.

"I'm delighted," he told the club's official website. "I was going for my lunch and I saw Damien [Comolli, director of football strategy] on my way through. He pulled me to one side and said the club wanted to offer me a new contract.

"There was no doubt in my mind, I was just so excited the club were offering me a contract.

"I've just got to keep working hard in training. I can't just sit back on this contract. I've got to keep improving and showing people what I'm about."

Robinson has been with the Merseyside club since the age of 9.
