Pablo Zabaleta talks up "satisfying" Dynamo Kiev stalemate

Pablo Zabaleta targets more history at Manchester City following a "satisfying" aggregate win over Dynamo Kiev that sealed progression into the Champions League quarters.

Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta has admitted to being 'satisfied' by this evening's goalless draw against Dynamo Kiev to seal progress into the last eight of the Champions League.

The Citizens did exactly what was required to see through the tie at the Etihad Stadium, having claimed a 3-1 victory in last month's first leg.

It was far from a classic showing by City in a match that saw just four shots on target in all, but Zabaleta is now eyeing further history at the club after reaching the quarter-finals for the first time ever.

"It was really satisfying to make history," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "This group of players are working hard every day to make this club even bigger. The Champions League, we are trying to reach at least a final.

"It's hard but today it was job done. Not a great performance but we are really pleased. We drew 0-0 at Norwich and again tonight but we have great players who will create chances. They can score any time."

City's win was blighted slightly by the loss of Vincent Kompany through an early injury, which will likely see him miss Sunday's derby meeting against Manchester United.
