Danny Welbeck has said that Manchester United will be looking to make amends for their Champions League exit against Ajax in the Europa League tonight.
Welbeck, whose side finished third in Group C and failed to progress to the knockout stages of the competition for the first time since 2005, insists that their showdown in Amsterdam will be still be a big game.
"It was unexpected [being in the Europa League] because we're United and we're required to get into the next round of the Champions League," he told the club's official website. "We didn't do that, we got knocked out.
"We just want to atone by hopefully making amends in the Europa League. We've got an exciting tie against Ajax to come, we're two clubs with great history and it should be a good tie home and away."
Meanwhile, Sir Alex Ferguson has vowed to field his strongest side.
