Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez believes that Tom Cleverley can play a pivotal role in Manchester United's charge for the Premier League title.
The 22-year-old started the campaign in impressive form for the Red Devils but has since been sidelined with an ankle problem.
Martinez, who managed Cleverley while he was on loan at the DW Stadium last season, thinks the midfielder's return to fitness will give United a boost in their quest for a 20th league crown.
"Tom Cleverley is a player you need to work with to understand the full package. The mentality he has got is quite unique. He is a winner and we all see what he can do," Martinez told The Sun.
"Tom will be refreshed - and that could be the key for United. He is going to be fully fit and it is going to be like having a new signing.
"He can make a big impact on the title race."
Cleverley came through the ranks at Old Trafford before having loan spells at Leicester City, Watford and Wigan.
