Former Manchester United full-back Gary Neville has encouraged Robin van Persie to avoid giving interviews over the coming weeks.
The Dutch striker stoked up some controversy late last month following comments that he made about his teammates after United had been defeated 2-0 by Greek side Olympiacos in the Champions League.
Manager David Moyes has since insisted that he has no problem with the 30-year-old's opinion and having his say on the subject, Neville has urged the frontman to let his football do the talking.
RVP needs a month without interviews and noise! Keep scoring goals / hold the ball up and run around like a madman for the team!!

The England coach then went on to clarify his view to one of his followers.
"@FraMcS: are you questioning Van Persie's professionalism?"
No!I'm clearly saying he needs to be out of the news and let his football talk
