Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has not ruled out a return to the club in a coaching capacity.

The 38-year-old retired for the second time at the end of last season, with Sir Alex Ferguson also /man-utd/sir-alex-ferguson-retires/news/man-utd-confirm-ferguson-retirement_83350.html">leaving Old Trafford following more than two decades at the club.

"I have spoken to him (new manager David Moyes) a couple of times but I am going to take a nice break now and try and get my head away from football for a little bit," Scholes told Sky Sports News.

"You do find it hard with all the pre-season games, though, you find yourself watching them.

"Obviously it's nice there is something there for me if I want to go back to it. I am sure ultimately I probably will take up the coaching offer."

Scholes scored 107 goals in 499 appearances for Manchester United in a career that spanned for 20 years.
