Luke Shaw: 'Late winner best feeling I've ever felt on a pitch'

Manchester United ace Luke Shaw says that he "loved" his side's dramatic win over Hull City, which he describes as the 'best feeling' he has felt on a football pitch.

Luke Shaw has revealed that the high felt following Marcus Rashford's winner against Hull City provided him with the best feeling he has ever felt on a football pitch.

The Red Devils dominated the chances in Saturday's meeting with the Tigers at the KCOM Stadium, racking up 28 attempts before finally making a breakthrough when Rashford tapped home 92 minutes in.

Shaw played a full part in the dramatic 1-0 win, which he claims is proof that his side are slowly getting back to the United of old, when battling to the very end was a famous trait under the great Sir Alex Ferguson.

"I loved it," he told the club's official website. "I think, emotion-wise, that was the best I've felt ever on a pitch. I'm just so happy that we could get the three points, not just for us but for the fans. They were unbelievable today.

"It was an unreal feeling and even a few of the lads in there [the dressing room] said it was like taking them back to the old days when they sometimes used to get those smash and grab wins. I loved it and hopefully there's more to come.

"To have the fans celebrating with us made it even more special. As players we could see how much the result meant to the fans, and the fans could see how much it meant to us and the whole club."

Shaw has featured in all four of United's competitive games so far this season, having missed the vast majority of 2015-16 through a long-term injury layoff.
