Antonio Valencia targets "continuous improvement"

Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia insists that there is more to come from him before the end of the season.

Ecuadorian winger Antonio Valencia has vowed to continue his improvement as a Manchester United player.

The 26-year-old has received a number of plaudits for his performances recently, culminating in a goalscoring contribution during United's 2-0 win at Blackburn Rovers on Monday night.

Despite admitting that he is "grateful" for all the praise, Valencia insists that there is still more to come from him between now and the end of the season.

"I try and strive for continuous improvement and I am always looking to improve from one game to the next," Valencia told reporters. "If it's a case of analysing stuff, it's really down to the manager and the backroom staff to give their opinions on that.

"It's just down to me to keep working hard and improving. It does make you happy when you hear positive things in the media and from the fans.

"All you can do is be grateful and thank people for that. I suppose it does encourage you to fight even harder to work towards that goal and that goal is obviously to win trophies."

Valencia has provided 14 assists this season.
