Dwight Yorke has claimed that Luke Shaw will benefit from working with Patrice Evra after his move to Manchester United from Southampton was confirmed on Friday.
Shaw will battle Evra to be Louis van Gaal's first-choice left-back, but Yorke is confident that it will be the Frenchman who helps the 18-year-old become the complete defender.
"I don't think he's the complete article – he's still a very young boy – but by going to United you'd expect him to develop," the former United striker told Sky Sports News.
"You can see the potential, and I think that's why Evra is still at the club, so he can learn from someone who's been very successful at the club. He will learn a lot about being at a top football club and I'm sure he will turn out to be money well spent."
Evra signed a new one-year deal with United in May.
