Deadline day key events
"I wouldn't hang up" - Chelsea, Arsenal learn Gittens price?
Chelsea and Arsenal have been warned that it would take more than £40m to sign Borussia Dortmund protege Jamie Gittens in 2025.
The two London rivals are thought to be among the top-flight clubs keeping a close eye on the 20-year-old Englishman, who has excelled for Nuri Sahin's side in the 2024-25 season.
Gittens has scored nine goals and set up four more in 22 appearances across all tournaments this term, including four strikes in the Champions League, one of which came away to holders Real Madrid.
Gittens - who previously represented Reading and Manchester City before moving to Dortmund in 2020 - has a long-running contract with the German giants, who will not lose him until 2028 as things stand.
"They may be forced to sell" - Man United, Newcastle 'handed transfer boost'
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown has said that Southampton would almost certainly be forced to sell Tyler Dibling if they are relegated from the Premier League during the 2024-25 campaign.
The Saints have only picked up five points from their 16 league matches this season, which has left them bottom of the Premier League table, already nine points behind 17th-placed Leicester City.
Dibling has been a standout player for Southampton this season, making 18 appearances in all competitions, contributing one goal and two assists in the process, and he is believed to be on the radar of a number of major clubs, including Man United and Newcastle United.
The 18-year-old has a contract at St Mary's until June 2027, and Russell Martin, who is now the former head coach of Southampton, recently played down suggestions that the teenager would soon be on the move.
A lifeline? Arteta responds to Tierney transfer rumours
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has affirmed that Kieran Tierney has not told him he wants to leave the club this season amid rumours that he will be heading elsewhere in 2025.
The 27-year-old made his first Arsenal appearance in a year and a half in Wednesday's 3-2 EFL Cup win over Crystal Palace, but reports emerged immediately afterwards that he will be ending his six-year spell at the Emirates next summer.
When Tierney extended his Arsenal contract in 2021, it was believed that the Scotland international had signed a five-year renewal, but it has now been revealed that he only signed on for four years with an option until 2026.
As the Gunners have chosen not to activate that clause, Tierney can walk away for nothing at the end of the season and is free to begin negotiating pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs when the January window opens.
'They will probably want to leave': Maresca admits duo may leave Chelsea in January
Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has admitted that Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka are likely to request a transfer away from Stamford Bridge.
Upon joining the Blues in the summer, Maresca did not shy away from excluding players that did not feature in his plans for 2024-25.
Chilwell and Chukwuemeka were among the squad members made available for transfer and only reintegrated once it became apparent that a suitable proposal for their services would not arrive.
While Chukwuemeka has been provided with 130 minutes across five appearances in the EFL Cup and Conference League, Chilwell has been restricted to just one 45-minute outing versus League Two side Barrow.
Chelsea planning fresh move for striker in 2025?
Chelsea are reportedly contemplating whether to make a fresh approach for RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko.
The Blues were one of several teams to identify the Slovenia international as a potential attacking addition during the summer transfer window.
However, Sesko ultimately decided to extend his contract with the Bundesliga giants in a bid to continue earning regular football at this stage of his career.
Although the 21-year-old has subsequently made 18 starts and two substitute outings in Germany's top flight and the Champions League, his position at the club appears less certain than it was earlier in the year.
Arsenal handed boost in pursuit of Ajax defender Hato?
Arsenal have allegedly received a boost in their efforts to secure a deal for Ajax defender Jorrel Hato.
Although the Gunners possess one of the best defensive records in the Premier League, there has been widespread speculation regarding several of their backup members.
A decision has reportedly already been made to allow Kieran Tierney to leave the Emirates Stadium, while Jakub Kiwior continues to be linked with a return to Serie A.
While it is unlikely that both players will exit North London in January, club officials will realistically have to start contemplating long-term alternatives for each player.
Pass master: Man United 'place highly-rated midfielder' on transfer shortlist
Atalanta BC midfielder Ederson is reportedly a transfer target for Manchester United, with the Red Devils giving serious consideration to making a move for him in 2025.
The 25-year-old has been in impressive form for Atalanta during the 2024-25 campaign, making 22 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice and registering one assist in the process.
Ederson arrived at his current club from Salernitana in 2022, and he has represented La Dea on 112 occasions, scoring 10 times and registering three assists, while he has been capped twice by Brazil.
According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Man United have placed the Brazilian on their midfield shortlist, with the club 'scouting him multiple times'.
Rashford latest: Will Man United forward be involved against Bournemouth?
Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has said that Marcus Rashford is in contention for Sunday's Premier League clash against Bournemouth despite being left out of the club's last two matchday squads.
There have been significant developments regarding Rashford's future over the last week, with Amorim deciding to leave the Englishman out of the squad for last weekend's Manchester derby due to poor performances in training.
Rashford then gave an interview to journalist Henry Winter on Tuesday where he revealed that he was open to leaving Man United, and the club's academy product was again missing for Thursday's EFL Cup quarter-final with Tottenham Hotspur.
The Red Devils will return to league action against Bournemouth on Sunday, where they will be bidding to bounce back from a 4-3 reverse to Tottenham in the last eight of the League Cup.
