Steve Morison double gives Millwall win over Doncaster Rovers

Two goals from Steve Morison give Millwall a 2-0 victory over Doncaster Rovers in their League One clash at The Den, as Thorstan Stuckmann denies the striker a hat-trick.

Two goals from Steve Morison have given Millwall a 2-0 victory over Doncaster Rovers in their League One clash this evening.

Millwall dominated proceedings from kickoff, and took the lead after just five minutes as Rovers keeper Thorsten Stuckmann misplaced a goal kick, before Steve Morison latched on to the ball and finished past the German.

Morison doubled the Lions' lead three minutes later, as the former Norwich City man volleyed past Stuckmann from a Shane Ferguson free kick.

Both sides missed good opportunities to add to the first-half scoreline, as Rovers striker Nathan Tyson blazed an effort over the bar from four yards, before Millwall winger Aiden O'Brien dragged an effort wide from inside the box.

Doncaster almost pulled a goal back after the break, as Tyson headed wide from a deep Aaron Taylor-Sinclair cross.

Morison was denied a hat-trick on the hour mark, as Carlos Edwards found the striker with a right-wing cross, before Stuckmann produced a good save to keep out the headed effort.

The Rovers almost found a consolation goal before the final whistle, as Harry Forrester saw a free kick deflect behind for a corner, before Andy Williams volleyed wide from the edge of the box.
