Louis van Gaal: 'Netherlands outsiders for World Cup'

Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal believes that his team has an outside chance of winning this summer's World Cup in Brazil.

Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal has claimed that his team has an outside chance of winning this summer's World Cup.

The Oranje eased through their qualifying group to reach the finals, winning nine and drawing one of their 10 matches.

Van Gaal now hopes that his players can get to at least the semi-finals of the tournament in Brazil.

"We consider ourselves as outsiders. I arrived as coach with certain targets: qualify for the finals and then reach the semi-finals," he is quoted as saying by Goal.com.

"We have introduced a lot of fresh young blood into the team and played really nice football and scored a lot of goals in the qualifying group."

Netherlands have been pitted with Spain, Chile and Australia in the group stage of the World Cup.
