Newcastle United have made a revised offer for FC Twente's Luuk de Jong, according to a report.
The Magpies have lodged a £12m bid for the striker after their initial offer of £8m was rejected, Dutch newspaper AD Sportwereld understands.
De Jong, who has been capped once by the Netherlands, scored 25 league goals in 32 games during the last campaign.
Benfica have also expressed interest in the forward, who is said to be valued at £18m by Twente president Joop Munsterman.
Munsterman is reportedly hoping that the player will remain in Holland, but has accepted the possibility of him moving elsewhere.
