Alan Pardew disappointed with careless Moussa Sissoko

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew slams Moussa Sissoko for a "minute of madness" following his red card in the 1-0 defeat at West Ham United.

Alan Pardew has hit out at Newcastle United's Moussa Sissoko for the "minute of madness" that saw him sent off in this afternoon's 1-0 defeat at West Ham United.

Sissoko was dismissed on 76 minutes after picking up two yellow cards in quick succession, as Aaron Cresswell's earlier opener condemned the Magpies to their first loss since September.

"He needs to learn - it was a minute of madness," the Newcastle boss told BBC Sport.

"He's usually such a controlled player. I thought we were pretty good right up until the goal. West Ham were aggressive and diligent."

Newcastle drop back to eighth in the Premier League table following the defeat at Upton Park.
