Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko has revealed that he would like Patrick Vieira to become the new manager of the club.
There has been intense speculation that the former Arsenal player could take over at the Magpies, and he is believed to be on a four-man shortlist of candidates.
Vieira is currently the manager of Manchester City's Under-21 squad, but despite his lack of experience in the top flight, Sissoko feels that he would be the perfect man for the job.
"I heard about this yesterday. If he comes to Newcastle I would be very happy," Sissoko told RMC.
"He was a role model for me. He played in the same position as I do. He allowed me to learn faster and faster, to be the best.
"At the moment, the manager is still John Carver. Even if the second half of the season was difficult, he is someone who I appreciate."
Sissoko has spent the past three seasons at Newcastle, since joining the club from Toulouse in January 2013.
