Cheick Tiote: 'Newcastle United more confident now'

Cheick Tiote admits that the Newcastle squad is feeling more confident following Sunday's dramatic win over Aston Villa.

Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote has admitted that the squad is feeling more confident following Sunday's last-gasp win over Aston Villa in the Premier League.

The Magpies ended a run of four consecutive defeats as Loic Remy's stoppage-time goal saw them take the spoils at St James' Park.

Tiote now hopes that the team can build on their performance and start climbing the table again in the coming weeks.

"We've got more confidence now," the Ivorian is quoted as saying by Goal.com. "We hadn't won for a few games. We didn't play as a team and we conceded too many goals. We take that to the next game."

Newcastle return to action on Saturday when they travel to Hull City in the Premier League.
