Nottingham Forest announce permanent capture of Darius Henderson

Nottingham Forest announce the permanent capture of Darius Henderson on a two-year contract.

Nottingham Forest have announced that striker Darius Henderson has made a permanent move to the City Ground from Millwall.

The 31-year-old moved to the club for the tail end of last season in January, but has since committed his future to the Championship outfit by signing a two-year contract with an option of a further year.

Manager Billy Davies told the club's official website: "I am absolutely delighted to have Darius on board. He showed us what he is capable of in his spell with us last season and his vast experience will be invaluable to us going into the new campaign.

"To have landed such a key target at this stage in the summer is a huge bonus and it should give everyone great confidence for the future."

Henderson added: "It feels great. I've only been here six months but I've thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff and players have been fantastic to me and helped me settle in very quickly.

"The gaffer made it clear that he wanted to sign me, which showed he had confidence in my abilities. There was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to make the move happen and I'm delighted to have put pen to paper. This is a fantastic club with a great fan base and I am proud to be a part of it."

Henderson netted two goals for Forest during his stint this season.
