Preston North End have handed Akpo Sodje a new one-month contract at the League One club.
The 32-year-old has scored seven goals this season, but his previous deal was due to expire this weekend.
However, Sodje's agent Jonathan Hope has confirmed that the powerful forward has agreed a further one-month stay.
"We have agreed a further month's extension with Preston North End and talks went smoothly," Hope told Sky Sports News.
"Obviously a longer deal would have been better for us but Preston want a further month and this was decided by Sodje being out for 10 days with an injury caused during boxing training in the club.
"His knee is holding up very well and Graham [Westley] is managing that successfully."
Preston face Milton Keynes Dons in the league on Sunday.
