Stuart McCall expects Dave King to receive SFA clearance

Stuart McCall admits that he "would be surprised" if Dave King failed to obtain the clearance needed by the SFA to become chairman of Rangers.

Rangers manager Stuart McCall is confident that Dave King will be given the green light by the Scottish Football Association to become chairman of the club.

The 60-year-old businessman is in the course of submitting evidence to the governing body in order to prove that he is fit and proper to take charge of the Gers.

A decision is not expected to be made until at least next week, although McCall believes that King will obtain the clearance needed.

"I think he will get his clearance. That's just my instinct. There has been a lot of in-depth work," he is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

"Even in the worst-case scenario where he doesn't, he still puts some cash in. Just not as a director. But, listen, I think he has been through vigorous checks. They have really looked into everything and I would be surprised if he didn't get it."

McCall was a director of Rangers alongside interim chairman Paul Murray prior to the club's financial meltdown in 2012.
