Ally McCoist expects Lee Wallace recall

Rangers boss Ally McCoist believes that Lee Wallace will play his way back into the Scotland squad after missing out on Wednesday's friendly against England.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has backed Lee Wallace to earn himself a Scotland recall after missing out on Wednesday's friendly against England.

The full-back, 26, has been left out of Gordon Strachan's squad for the match at Wembley Stadium.

"Lee has done really well so far this season and I'm a little bit disappointed he's not in the squad," McCoist is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "I'm sure he'll be a little bit disappointed too.

"I'd be very hopeful that if Lee keeps performing the way he is, it won't be long before he's back in there. That's what he has got to aim for."

Wallace has six international caps to his name after making his debut in 2009.
