Barcelona vs. Real Madrid dates set for 2016-17

The first Barcelona vs. Real Madrid clash of 2016-17 will take place at Camp Nou in December, with the return El Clasico coming in late April.

The first clash between Barcelona and Real Madrid in the 2016-17 campaign will take place at Camp Nou in early December.

The El Clasico dates were revealed when the Spanish calendar was released today, with the return fixture at the Bernabeu coming towards the end of the season in late April.

Defending champions Barca and Champions League winners Real Madrid are once again expected to battle it out for the La Liga title alongside Atletico Madrid next term.

The match at Camp Nou will take place on December 3 or 4, while the Bernabeu reverse is scheduled for April 23 on matchday 33.

Barca, who are looking for a third straight title, will begin their defence at home to Real Betis on August 20 or 21, while Madrid will take on Real Sociedad away on that opening weekend.

Real will finish their campaign away to Malaga, while Barcelona will host Eibar in their final game of the season.
