Chelsea could make a move for Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos after his falling-out with Jose Mourinho.

Reports have suggested that Chelsea are planning to make a move for Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos after it emerged that he has fallen out with Jose Mourinho.

The 26-year-old was left out of the Spanish giants' squad when they faced Manchester City on Tuesday night.

The omission has sparked rumours that the Spain international is on his way out of the club, with Chelsea looking to take full advantage of the rift between the defender and Mourinho, according to the Daily Mail.

Roberto Di Matteo was desperate to strengthen his defence in the summer transfer window, but failed to add any defensive reinforcements.

It now seems that Ramos is the number one target for the European champions. He is an attractive option for Chelsea, with his ability to play at right back and in the centre of defence.

Ramos joined Real Madrid from Sevilla in 2005.
