Gary Cahill and Juan Mata move into the starting XI in place of John Terry and Frank Lampard, who both drop to the bench.

Ramires is expected to operate from a deep midfield position, while Petr Cech captains the European champions.

Potters boss Tony Pulis makes one change from the team that drew 1-1 with Manchester City, as Geoff Cameron replaces suspended right-back Andy Wilkinson.

Michael Owen is once again named among the substitutes.
