Sampdoria goalkeeper Sergio Romero's agent has confirmed that his client is in negotiations over a summer switch to Monaco.
Romero joined the Serie A side from AZ Alkmaar in 2011, becoming a regular for Samp with mixed fortunes.
The Argentine international's representative Mino Raiola revealed that he has held discussions with Monaco, with further news on a proposed deal due before the end of this week.
Raiola told Telenord: "We are working on it. I cannot say anything right now, because the operation has not yet been brought to its conclusion.
"Certainly there will be some news before Friday."
The 26-year-old has become Argentina's first-choice stopper under coach Alejandro Sabella, earning 39 caps for his country since 2009.
