Southampton are reportedly ready to offer £9m to Celtic in a bid to try to sign England international goalkeeper Fraser Forster before the start of the season.

Southampton are prepared to bid £9m to land Celtic keeper Fraser Forster, according to a report.

New Saints boss Ronald Koeman has identified the 26-year-old as one of his top transfer targets as he seeks to rebuild his squad following several high-profile departures.

The 51-year-old is ready to test Celtic's resolve with the offer to try to poach the England international before the start of the season, claims The People.

Southampton begin their Premier League campaign against Liverpool on August 17.
