Brad Friedel: 'Tim Sherwood can be proud despite sacking'

Brad Friedel believes that Tim Sherwood can be proud of the job he did during his spell as Tottenham Hotspur head coach.

Brad Friedel has claimed that Tim Sherwood can be proud of the job he did during his short time as Tottenham Hotspur head coach.

Sherwood was relieved of his duties on Tuesday following weeks of speculation, but Friedel believes that the 45-year-old will return to manage in the Premier League once again.

"I thought Tim, especially in his first managerial job, conducted himself very well," the Spurs goalkeeper told BBC Radio 5 live.

"He wears his heart on his sleeve. He was asked to take control on an interim basis with players who weren't necessarily his and I think he did really well.

"Yes, I think he's good enough to do the job in the Premier League, whether with Tottenham or somebody else. I think he has a great future ahead of him, as do Les Ferdinand and Chris Ramsey, who I'm sure he will have on his staff if he's fortunate enough to get another job."

Mauricio Pochettino and Frank de Boer are believed to be leading candidates to replace Sherwood at White Hart Lane.
