Hertha Berlin have allegedly won the race to sign AC Milan forward Krzysztof Piatek, edging out Tottenham Hotspur in the process.
Throughout the January window, Piatek has been heavily linked with a number of Premier League clubs, most notably Spurs who require a short-term replacement for Harry Kane.
However, the North London outfit have not been prepared to meet Milan's £25m valuation, instead hoping to sign the Poland international on loan with an option to buy in the summer.
According to Sky Italia, Hertha have stepped in to agree terms with Milan having indicated that they are willing to push through a permanent deal.
The 24-year-old, who has scored four times from 18 outings in Serie A this season, is now expected to travel to Germany to finalise the move.
Spurs are said to be considering other options, including the possibility of signing Olivier Giroud from Chelsea.
