Kevin Wimmer: 'Tottenham Hotspur have turned the corner'

Defender Kevin Wimmer says that the club's 1-1 draw with Arsenal shows that the club have started to "turn the corner" after a poor run of results.

Defender Kevin Wimmer has said that the North London outfit are "moving in the right direction" after securing a 1-1 draw with rivals Arsenal.

Wimmer netted an own goal at the Emirates Stadium before a second-half penalty from Harry Kane ensured that the club remain undefeated in the Premier League, although Mauricio Pochettino's team have only won five of their 11 games.

However, Wimmer feels that the point against the Gunners shows that Spurs have "turned the corner" ahead of a hectic winter schedule.

The 23-year-old told the club's official website: "We've tried to turn things around after recent games and we did well. For me, it's always a good feeling to be in the starting XI, especially a game like this. I always try to give my best and we all wanted to win.

"It was a typical derby, lots of intensity and everyone tried their best. We tried to get the three points and we were unlucky. We obviously got the draw, but we now have some time until the next game and I think we've turned the corner. We're moving in the right direction and everyone believes we can continue to improve."

Wimmer was making his first Premier League appearance of the season at the weekend.
