How Tottenham Hotspur could line up against Everton

Sports Mole looks at how Tottenham Hotspur could line up for Sunday's Premier League opener against Everton.

As the world watches their turbulent and underwhelming 2019-20 campaign play out via a behind-the-scenes documentary, Tottenham Hotspur get their 2020-21 season underway on Sunday when they host Everton.

Jose Mourinho's side only managed a sixth-placed finish last term to miss out on Champions League football, and returning to the top four will be their primary goal for the upcoming campaign.

However, they welcome an Everton side with a top-class manager in Carlo Ancelotti and one which has made some eye-catching additions to their squad during the summer.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Spurs could line up for the contest.

In stark contrast to last season, Mourinho has the vast majority of his squad to choose from for this opener.

Japhet Tanganga is the only confirmed absentee, while the only minor doubt hangs over the head of Giovani Lo Celso, who missed training earlier this week and will be assessed ahead of kickoff.

Harry Winks has been passed fit, although he could miss out to new signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg - one of two expected debutants for the hosts alongside Matt Doherty.

Dele Alli's pre-season form is set to earn him a start as number 10, with Son Heung-min on the left and either Steven Bergwijn or Lucas Moura most likely to start on the right.

Harry Kane is expected to lead the line after firing back-to-back blanks with England, and he will be confident of getting back on the goal trail considering he has scored eight times in his last five meetings with Everton.
