Hull City manager Steve Bruce is confident that he can land Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson before the transfer window closes.
The Tigers boss revealed after his side's 1-1 draw against Stoke City this afternoon that a 'deal in principle' is in place which will see the 30-year-old move to the KC Stadium this summer.
"It's up to me to bring two or three in, we're close to one in particular and we hope we can get that over the line," the former Sunderland boss told Sky Sports News.
"Michael Dawson we hope we can get. There's a deal in place in principle anyway. Hopefully, touch wood we'll see what develops."
Hull reportedly had a bid for Blackburn Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes rejected earlier this week, and Bruce admits that a deal now seems unlikely.
"I thought I had Jordan Rhodes 24 hours ago and it seems to be further away than ever. We've been negotiating for a week. We'll see what this week brings and hopefully bring in the two or three we need to give the squad a hand because we've already played five competitive games," he added.
