A report claims that Dani Alves is a possible transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur as the free agent is eager to join a Premier League club.

Dani Alves is reportedly eager to play in the Premier League and has been in contact with Tottenham Hotspur over a possible move.

The Brazilian full-back, named Player of the Tournament as his nation claimed the Copa America title last week, is without a club after leaving Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Manchester City have been touted as a possible destination for the 36-year-old given that he previously worked with Pep Guardiola at Barcelona, but it has been claimed by journalist Duncan Castles that Spurs could provide some competition.

Castles said on The Transfer Window podcast: "He definitely has the option to return to Brazil and play for one of the top clubs there for the next few seasons.

"But if he's going to stay in Europe, he has a long held ambition to play in the Premier League.

"I understand there's been contact with Tottenham Hotspur about the possibility of Dani moving there in what would seem a strange addition for Tottenham given that this is a club focused on younger players whose values will increase, players whom they can get on generally cheap salaries."

Tottenham have already signed two players during the off-season, with Tanguy Ndombele and Jack Clarke arriving from Lyon and Leeds United respectively.
