Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made plans to bid for Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph in the January transfer window.
Delph, whose current deal at Villa Park expires at the end of the season, has been linked with a number of clubs in recent months due to an impressive run of form which saw him break into the England squad in September.
According to The Mirror, the 24-year-old would be open to making the switch to White Hart Lane if Spurs are able to agree a fee with Villa.
Despite making Delph a key part of his plans during his reign, Paul Lambert may be forced to accept losing the midfielder if the Villa hierarchy are keen to ensure they do not lose him on a free transfer in the summer.
Delph, who is believed to have recently rejected the offer of a new contract from Villa, is currently out of action with a shoulder injury.
