Marcel Desailly reveals that he was approached by Swansea City to discuss the vacant manager's job at the Liberty Stadium.

Former France international defender Marcel Desailly has revealed that he rejected an approach from Swansea City to discuss the vacant manager's job at the Liberty Stadium.

The 43-year-old, who has no previous managerial experience, had been shortlisted by the Welsh side as part of their search to find a replacement for Brendan Rodgers.

"I was approached, but it is not the right time," Desailly told Le 10 Sport. "Everything seemed fine, but it was too early."

Desailly, who made 156 league appearances in England with Chelsea between 1998 and 2004, retired as a player in 2006.
