Dimitar Berbatov brace downs Toulouse

Dimitar Berbatov scores twice for Monaco as they run out 2-0 winners in their Ligue 1 match against Toulouse.

Monaco have climbed up to seventh in the Ligue 1 table by claiming a 2-0 victory over Toulouse this evening.

Bernardo Silva wasted the chance to give the visitors the lead midway through the first half when he rounded the keeper, but Dragos Grigore got back to clear the ball off the line.

Anthony Martial was next to threaten for Monaco, but his strike from the edge of the box was saved by Ali Ahamada.

On the stroke of half time Monaco took the lead, as Dimitar Berbatov was picked out inside the box by Martial, before drilling an effort into the far corner of the net.

In the 77th minute Berbatov slotted in a second for the visitors from the penalty spot, after Grigore had fouled Fabinho inside the box.

The hosts pushed hard for a way back into the game, but they were unable to find the net as Monaco held on to take the points.
